New Batches of Student Interns Join UP NISMED’s STEM Immersion Program in the First Quarter of 2026

UP NISMED welcomed new batches of senior high school student interns during the First Quarter of 2026 as part of its continuing STEM Immersion Program. A total of 44 students participated in the program, including 28 interns from St. Pedro Poveda College and 16 interns from Charis School. This marked the second batch of interns sent by both schools.

The STEM Immersion Program provides students with opportunities to gain meaningful learning experiences through engagement in various academic workgroups within the institute. Under the guidance of their respective mentors, the interns carried out assigned tasks and were exposed to the institute’s facilities and resources in support of their immersion experience.

In addition to their workgroup assignments, the interns participated in three workshops designed to broaden their exposure to STEM applications. These included a VEX Robotics Workshop featuring VEX IQ, VEX VR, and VEX AIM; a Telescope Workshop; and a 3D Printing workshop.

The immersion wrapped up with a culminating activity, where the interns shared their experiences and reflections on their learning journey at UP NISMED. Through these engagements, the program continues to provide partner schools with opportunities for students to experience STEM learning beyond the classroom.
