Ma. Dulcelina O. Sebastian, known to many as Dulce, retired after 39 years of dedicated service at UP NISMED. Her remarkable commitment to the Institute was honored in a retirement party organized by the Socials Committee on 6 February 2025 at the STTC Auditorium. The celebration was warmly attended by her family, close friends, former classmates, and colleagues.
Because of her love for music, Dulce’s retirement party turned into a delightful afternoon of her favorite songs, performed by staff who prepared special renditions just for her. A heartfelt message of appreciation was delivered by Dr. Sheryl Lyn C. Monterola, Director of UP NISMED, while Dulce’s colleagues and former classmates conveyed their warm wishes. Adding to the occasion, Dulce’s family members fondly shared cherished memories of their childhood together, cheerfully recalling how Dulce often took the lead, despite being the youngest.
As a member of the High School Biology Group, Dulce contributed significantly to the development of learning resource materials for teachers and students, served as a teacher trainer, and presented research papers in various conferences. She was also an advocate for the health and well-being of the staff and their families, serving as the Institute’s Health Liaison Officer (HelLO). Dulce was also a member of the Drug Education Committee of the ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education based at the UP College of Education.
Cheers to your retirement, Dulce! UP NISMED extends its deepest gratitude and warmest wishes as you embark on this new chapter of your life. May your retirement be filled with music, laughter, and the simple joys you have always shared with others.
